“Vicki is a top Professional in her field injecting local flavor into routine construction features that instill a pride of ownership component to the local community. Vicki blends these aesthetic features to adjoining projects where they can be constructed readily allowing for reasonable production rates minimizing cost impact. Vicki works diligently throughout the development process from concept to final design details including trouble-shooting construction obstacles. The outcomes of Vicki’s efforts are realized through simplicity providing a beautiful landscape for the traveling public to enjoy. Vicki has been a great asset to the West Texas region providing unique artwork to aesthetic treatments that will become the standard for others to follow.”

“Vicki served as an artist representative on an arts advisory committee I staffed in Seattle for a transportation project. She provided great insight into the possibilities for public art along the alignment, was a big picture thinker and visionary, and a delight to work with. She is passionate about her work and contributions, and is extremely focused and hard-working.”

Walker Street, Cary, NC
“Vicki Scuri is a public artist that is collaborative, sensitive, creative and practical. She is inspired by project context, history, the natural environment and project purpose, finding creative ways to interpret those layers and create an engaging experience. The Walker Street project involved some difficult challenges including environmental constraints and coordination with NC Railroad, as well as more typical project design parameters such as budget, accessibility, safety, and environmental stewardship. To every challenge she responded with creative energy. We worked closely with Vicki to create an experience that spoke to the town’s history, improved pedestrian connectivity, integrated green infrastructure and created a strong identity for the town hall campus.
“Following the Walker Street project I have kept up with Vicki’s work and I am always impressed by her vision, imagination, collaboration and ability to work at varying scales in differing contexts.
“We would embrace any opportunity to work with Vicki again.”

Public Art Workshop, Las Vegas Arts Commission,
Las Vegas, NV
“The city of Las Vegas Arts Commission recently had the honor of hosting one of her public workshops. Often in the realm of public art obstacles arise at the most inopportune moment, from foundations of artwork crumbling, to bureaucracy stifling artistic concepts. The good public artist manages to survive, the great public artist thrives – enter Vicki Scuri. Upon her arrival it was quite clear that the technological capacity originally intended for her workshop was missing some key components, an event that might have deterred another artist. Vicki was empowered by it. She embraced her challenges and seamlessly transitioned her original intent to correspond with the given circumstance. Her lecture proceeded without hindrance and with a jovial optimism, wit, and intelligence that one of the audience members would later remark – "I can't believe this is free". That sense of receiving knowledge of great value was echoed by many.
“As the coordinator, attendee, as well as an artist I have had the good fortune of witnessing and interacting with a great many artists of profound as Vicki. The positive response from the community affirms this. It is safe to say that if one has a growing community of public art opportunities and artists to fulfill them, having Vicki relay her insight would be invaluable.”
